As we work to ensure federally-appropriated funds are rightfully deposited, I’m pleased RIDOT signed an agreement with the federal USDOT to unfreeze $30 million in funding for the Washington Bridge.
Happy #OpeningDay! ⚾️ There’s always a Rhode Island connection — did you know all official MLB baseballs have been made by the Woonsocket’s Brickle Group since 1937?
Great visit to the Brickle Group, a third-generation family manufacturing business in Woonsocket. Since 1937, they’ve been leaders in textiles & fiber recycling — even creating berets & blankets for West Point Military Academy and wool for official MLB baseballs!
I joined @houseforeign.bsky.social Democrats as a cosponsor to force the administration to send all records to Congress so we can provide much needed oversight.
After the Trump Administration’s reckless use of Signal to discuss classified military operations, the American people deserve to know the full extend of this security breach.
RM @meeks.house.gov: introduced a Resolution of Inquiry—a procedural tool that compels the White House to provide Congress with records—demanding answers on the reckless use of the Signal messaging app by top Trump admin officials to discuss classified military operations.
Ever since Trump and Elon started slashing critical support for the FAA, air traffic controllers have had to deal with staffing and funding shortages.   This week, I met with members of the NATCA to discuss the critical need for investments in the FAA and promoting safety in aviation.
Rhode Island’s Blue Economy is spurring growth for workers, small businesses, and research institutions in our state. But right now, Trump & Musk are hacking and slashing investments that support it — slowing scientific progress, threatening economic stability, and hindering our national security.
In yesterday’s @houseforeign.bsky.social hearing on USAID, I called out Trump’s RECKLESS foreign aid freeze that hurts aid producers like RI’s Edesia Nutrition & undermines humanitarian relief and the people who do this work. WATCH:
Calling all high school artists in #RI01 to apply for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition!🎨 This year’s competition is officially OPEN. I look forward to applications interpreting our theme – Hope in the Ocean State. I can’t wait to see what up and coming Rhode Island artists create! 🌊
Equal work deserves equal pay. In America, the gender wage gap has widened to 75 cents on the dollar. And it’s even worse for women of color. It’s time to do the right thing and ensure fair pay for all.
On the 204th anniversary of Greek independence, we celebrate the long-standing partnership between our democratic countries and the rich culture shared in Rhode Island and across our nation by Greek Americans.   Happy #GreekIndependenceDay! 🇬🇷
Signal-gate is unacceptable. We need answers. We will hold the Trump administration accountable for their gross incompetence that is making our country less safe.
Rhode Island was founded on welcoming those fleeing persecution and oppression.   While Trump spreads fear and undermines our nation’s history as a beacon of hope, I’m standing with orgs like Refugee Dream Center who have been supporting refugees in RI for the past ten years.
Judges should interpret the law without fear of reprisal or political retribution. Those who disagree with a ruling should file an appeal, not sham resolutions with articles of impeachment.
NEW: A Georgia congressman has followed through with his pledge to file an impeachment resolution against RI's top federal judge Former dean of RWU Law says the allegations amount to disagreements, not high crimes and misdemeanors
Republicans can say they aren’t cutting Social Security all they want, but actions speak louder than words. RIers work hard to earn these benefits — that’s why I’m cosponsoring the Keeping our Field Offices Open Act to prevent the Trump/Musk admin from making back-door cuts to Social Security.
