House Republicans being on vacation for the past 3 weeks probably isn’t helping. Republicans must return to Washington, sit down with Democrats, and negotiate a bipartisan solution that will reopen government and prevent healthcare costs from skyrocketing on American families.
Republican leaders are clashing on whether to return to session to pass emergency legislation to pay troops during the government shutdown.
Why would the president even consider pardoning a convicted sexual predator like Ghislaine Maxwell? Release the Epstein Files.
COLLINS: Pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell -- is that something you're open to doing? TRUMP: Who are we talking about? C: Ghislaine Maxwell T: I haven't heard the name is so long. I can say this -- I'd have to take a look at it ... I will speak to the DOJ C: She's convicted of child sex trafficking
First, Republicans shut the government down to undermine the ACA Now, they’re threatening to withhold the backpay that federal workers need to keep food on the table Stop threatening your own citizens and negotiate a bipartisan spending bill that reopens the government and lowers healthcare costs!
SCOOP: Furloughed federal workers aren't guaranteed compensation for their forced time off during the government shutdown, according to a draft White House memo described to Axios by three sources.
If the Speaker is serious, he can extend the ACA tax credits that will prevent healthcare premiums from skyrocketing, restore the $1 TRILLION in funding Republicans cut from Medicaid, and end the Republican shutdown!
Trump: "He wants to be the healthcare president, as he is for all these other matters. And he's going to do it. We have lots of ideas."
I call on Israel and Hamas to take the first step towards ending the devastation and destruction throughout the region by agreeing to the proposed ceasefire and a long term peace process.
As we pray for the victims, their families, and their communities, let us also pray for the immediate return of the innocent hostages, an end to this brutal conflict and the suffering of the Palestinian people, and a lasting peace across the region.
Today marks 2 years since Hamas terrorists senselessly slaughtered over 1,200 people, including dozens of Americans, in their brutal attack on Israel. May we take a moment to grieve with the families, and may we never forget the lives lost.
Just like he wants to rip healthcare away from hardworking families, the president wants to steal paychecks from federal workers. The law is clear and @housedemocrats.bsky.social won’t stand for it.
Q: Why do you say some federal workers should not get their backpay? TRUMP: Well, you're gonna have to figure that out. Ask the Democrats
Republicans enacted the largest cut to Medicaid in history. Their Big Ugly Bill will rip health care away from 15 MILLION Americans. Now, they’ve shut down the government to prevent an extension of ACA tax credits that help working class families afford their premiums.
Mike Johnson: "Let me look right into the camera and tell you very clearly: Republicans are the ones concerned about healthcare. Republicans are the party working around the clock everyday to fix healthcare. This is not talking points for us: we've done it."
It says everything that, in the middle of a government shut down, House Republicans decided to take another week off. Democrats will keep showing up to work, fighting to lower costs, and protecting the health care of American families – because someone has to do the people’s work.
It was an honor to speak before the Communications Workers of America this morning to talk about the harmful impacts of the president’s Big Ugly Bill—which rips healthcare away from millions of American workers, kills clean energy jobs, and gives tax breaks to giant corporations.
If Republicans are successful in ending ACA tax credits, 383,000 Missourians are at risk of losing their health care and 216,000 face premiums that are more than DOUBLE what they paid this year. Missouri families literally cannot afford this cruelty. www.cnbc.com/2025/09/30/a...
The president’s tariff taxes have sent grocery prices soaring and devastated American farmers nationwide. Now, he needs $50 BILLION to fix his mistake. And you wonder how he bankrupted numerous businesses… www.politico.com/news/2025/10...
The American know that Republicans control the House, Senate, and White House—which is why this shutdown is due to their inability to govern. It’s time to negotiate a bipartisan bill that reopens government and prevents healthcare costs from soaring.
The U.S. government is shut down, and Americans are more inclined to blame President Trump and Republicans for it, according to four independent, national polls conducted just before or during the funding lapse.
The American people are already struggling with the cost-of-living, which is why they want an extension of ACA tax credits that help working families afford their health premiums. While Republicans shut down the government to prevent that, we’ll keep fighting to #ProtectOurCare
New @kff.org poll on whether U.S. adults support or oppose extending the Obamacare subsidies scheduled to expire at the end of 2025 Overall: 78% say extend, 22% say expire
