Elon Musk should not have access to American taxpayers’ most sensitive data. Full stop.
Proud to join over 100 of my colleagues in supporting a bill that would stop Musk’s and his associates’ attempted takeover of the US Treasury.
We can save taxpayer dollars, make government more efficient, and better protect America’s national security by reforming the Defense Department’s contracting & procurement process.
My op-ed 👇
Starting TODAY, 10,000 employees at King Soopers across Colorado are going on strike.
These are the folks who help put food on our tables. Proud to stand with them as they negotiate a fair, living wage. #UnionStrong
Hundreds of Coloradans have called me this week to ask why Donald Trump is giving unaccountable billionaires unfettered access to our personal data and classified information.
I’ll continue to push for accountability and oversight.
Then, Senator Marco Rubio asked President Biden to *increase* the USAID budget.
Now, Secretary Rubio is fine with Trump & Musk eliminating it.
I’m joining my colleagues to condemn these actions that make America weaker.
Foreign aid is NOT charity.
USAID works to counter terrorism, promote democracy, and prevent conflicts. Why?
So we don’t have to send American troops to fight more wars overseas.
Elon Musk’s shutting down USAID is illegal.
It’s also a huge gift to China & Russia.
I’m fighting back.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the senior leadership of the Trump Administration:
2/ A billionaire, unaccountable to the American people, should not have access to sensitive government data – including tax returns & Social Security payments.
This is not what people voted for & I will fight these efforts. www.wired.com/story/elon-m...
1/ Billionaires have served in prior Administrations. Why is this different?
Elon Musk:
-Wasn’t elected
-Senate didn’t confirm him
-And there’s no transparency or oversight of his efforts.
Trump threatened a trade war with our closest allies, threw the markets into chaos, and jeopardized American businesses — all to “accomplish” a deal that had largely been struck months ago.
Betraying Americans’ trust one day at a time.
Climate change is real and already having an impact on Colorado.
Great to stop by CU Denver to speak with students about how we can invest in clean energy to reduce carbon emissions, fight climate change, and create good-paying clean energy jobs.
Sat down with local business leaders in Aurora to discuss how President Trump’s immigration orders will hurt our local businesses, raise costs, and exacerbate workforce shortages.
I’ve heard from many Coloradans concerned about the politicization of our military & reports that a local military base will be used for mass deportation efforts.
Today I visited Buckley Space Force Base to provide critical oversight of the President's recent orders.
America’s adversaries are cheering President Trump’s actions. Why?
Because eliminating USAID empowers the Kremlin and the Chinese Communist Party.
It’s making America weaker & has nothing to do with government efficiency.
7/ Don’t let Trump destroy an important USG Agency unconstitutionally.
He’s not a king. Don’t let him act like it.
Join me in speaking out.
6/ He’s starting with USAID because many Americans don’t know what it does or why it exists, but it plays a huge role in helping people in need overseas and is only about 1% of the entire USG budget.
See here: www.brookings.edu/interactive/...
5/ If President Trump wants to get rid of USAID, he needs to get the permission of Congress to do so.
He doesn’t have the votes in Congress to get rid of USAID, so he’s illegally trying to do it himself.
4/ Additionally, when the President withholds money Congress has allocated, he needs to explain it to Congress.
Under the Impoundment Control Act, the President has to tell Congress what they are doing with appropriated funds and why.
Trump is also violating this law.
