President Trump has fired her without cause. In Admiral Franchetti, I see only hard work, dedication, and the experience needed to serve as the Chief of Naval Operations.
In addition to the firing of General Charles Q. Brown Jr., I am shocked at President Trump’s decision to dismiss Admiral Lisa Franchetti, Chief of Naval Operations. Admiral Franchetti earned her stars through her forty years of distinguished service to our nation.
General Charles Q. Brown Jr. has honorably served our nation for over forty years. I am appalled by President Trump’s decision to fire him from his position as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Just so everybody is clear on Republican priorities:
We put up an amendment to make sure nobody making over $500 million gets a tax cut. Republicans voted against it.
Republicans in Washington are coming for Medicaid.
Access to health care is essential. I will never stop fighting to protect this lifeline for seniors, children, and families.
President Trump is wrongfully firing Minnesotans serving the American public, from the Park Service to the VA. These reckless cuts don’t just impact our neighbors who've been laid off — they impact critical services for all of us.
President Trump and House Republicans want to cut Medicaid and food assistance for millions of seniors, children, and families — all to cut taxes for billionaires.
Despite these huge cuts, their plan still increases the Debt by $3 trillion. thehill.com/homenews/adm...
President Trump is lying. Ukraine did not start this war.
We all watched in horror as Putin launched the illegal full-scale invasion of Ukraine. President Trump’s whitewash cannot change the fact that the Russian military has killed thousands of innocent Ukrainian civilians.
After cheering on Elon Musk's draconian cuts, Republican Senators now want to shield their states from the consequences of their inaction.
Federal funding for me, but not for thee.
It doesn't work like that. Time for Republicans to get serious and take back the power of the purse.
Firing probationary DoD employees will shift the burden of their work to uniformed personnel or more expensive military contractors, making our military less efficient.
The Department of Defense needs major reform. This isn't the way to do it. www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...
Working families expect the president to work with Congress to protect Social Security and Medicaid, ensure a fair tax code, and protect workers’ rights and safety while on the job.
Today at a town hall with local union members I heard concerns about the reckless and illegal actions by President Trump and Elon Musk to raid agencies providing services and projects that Americans rely on to pay for more tax cuts for billionaires.
Donald Trump has fired hundreds of FAA employees since taking office, including several hundred on Friday alone. This reckless approach to the security of our skies is wreaking havoc and endangering the safety of American air travelers.
House Republicans broke their word, and are now proposing huge cuts to Medicaid. This would drive up costs for middle class families — all to make room for a giant tax break for billionaires.
If just 3 House Republicans join Democrats to block it, we'll defeat their dangerous plan.
Donald Trump & Elon Musk illegally and abruptly fired nuclear security workers before realizing they're essential to our national security. An unelected billionaire and his interns have no place meddling in the security of the U.S. nuclear arsenal. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/16/u...
My thoughts are with the passengers, crew, and families of those rescued from Delta Flight 4819 this afternoon. I wish swift recoveries to those who were injured, and am grateful to the first responders whose heroic actions saved lives today.
President Trump illegally canceled scholarships for 185 students @uofstthomasmn.bsky.social training to be special education teachers because he deems their studies “DEI.”
I completely agree with President Zelenskyy: Nothing about Ukraine, without Ukraine.
Ukraine is not the aggressor. Russian troops illegally invaded Ukraine and killed thousands of Ukrainians. Any negotiations to end the war must include the Ukrainian government. www.bbc.com/news/article...
President Trump promised to lower costs on "Day One." Instead, we’re paying much more for groceries, gas, and rent because of his illegal and chaotic actions.
Tina Smith is a dear friend and an incredible partner in improving the lives of Minnesotans. I'm truly grateful for her work on behalf of our communities. Minnesota is better thanks to her public service, and I look forward to working with her during the next two years.
