Americans want us to focus on real issues like lowering the cost of living and expanding access to healthcare, but what do Republicans have us doing today?
Wasting time on a ridiculous bill to rename the Gulf of Mexico.
Sat down with @fitzprov.bsky.social to talk about what I'm doing to stop Trump’s Medicaid cuts, my bill to ban Congress from stock trading, and our mission to restore funding for @edesianutrition.bsky.social to feed malnourished children around the 🌎.
Give it a listen! 🎧⬇️
For the sixth time, I’m calling on the Trump Administration to release the lifesaving food aid fully funded in the Fiscal Year 2025 budget.
Children are starving. Food is sitting in warehouses. This is unacceptable.
The truth is out: the GOP budget plan kicks millions off insurance as it seeks to cut Medicaid.
And for what? So billionaires can get more tax breaks.
Yesterday, GOP leadership told their members *not to speak* during a 14-hour “debate” on their plan to sell off public lands to fund billionaire tax cuts. 🤫
They couldn’t defend it, they just voted for it.
That’s not leadership.
Every kid deserves a strong start. We won't stand for any budget that eliminates Head Start.
That's why I joined the @repangiecraig.bsky.social letter to tell Trump: Fully fund Head Start in your FY26 budget.
A starving 2-year-old who can’t cry, walk, or grow—that’s what severe malnutrition looks like.
We can save these children. RUTF works.
But the Trump administration has broken its promise to fund this program. I rose today for a 5th time to say: enough.
I got my start as a 4th-grade public school teacher, and those years continue to guide my work in Congress.
Teachers don’t just teach—they mentor, guide, and shape the next generation. This #TeacherAppreciationWeek, thank you to every educator making a difference.
Our office’s incredible interns do the important work of making sure the office runs smoothly for Rhode Islanders.
Thanks to our Warwick interns off as they finish their semester, and I can’t wait to see what they accomplish next!
At long last, summer’s just around the corner. 🏖️ And that means beach passes are available!
RIDEM encourages early purchases to avoid delays once beach season begins—secure your 2025 RI state beach parking pass now at 👉 beachparkingri.com.
I brought a clip of Joe Rogan to the Homeland Security Committee because we agree that we shouldn’t send innocent people to prisons in El Salvador.
Maybe President Trump and my Republican colleagues will start to listen?

¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo!
Today we celebrate Mexican heritage and culture—and honor the countless contributions Mexican Americans have made in Rhode Island and the country.
In Rhode Island, we kinda have a sore spot when it comes to kings.
Just saying…
Happy #RhodeIslandIndependenceDay!
249 years ago today Rhode Island made history by becoming the first colony to sever ties with the British Crown and become independent.
Happy Independence Day, Rhode Island - where bravery and the pursuit of liberty still runs deep!
The new Centreville Bank Stadium, home of Rhode Island FC lives up to the hype!
Congrats to all involved in making Rhode Island the next big thing in pro soccer!
I’ll work with anyone to build an economy that works for working Rhode Islanders.
But when one side is pushing for trillions in tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans who have already rigged the system for themselves?
That I can never get behind.
May is Jewish American Heritage Month—a time to celebrate members of the Jewish faith who contribute to our country’s culture and history.
May is a time to honor Judaism and stand against hate.

Trump’s tax bill is a good deal for billionaires. But for the middle class? It’s loaded up with cuts to healthcare, SNAP and other essential programs—all to pay for tax cuts for people at the very top.
Today, @magaziner.house.gov highlights how the Republican Budget Bill hurts working people.
More than 1 in 5 American adults struggle with mental illness.
This #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, be sure to check in on those you love and take some time for yourself too.
And remember: People love you and are there for you.
Day 3 of speaking on the House floor every day until the Trump Admin restores @edesianutrition.bsky.social's funding to feed malnourished children.
This is not just about saving lives - our national security depends on strong relationships in the developing world.
