My colleague and friend Rep. LaMonica McIver came to Congress to fight for the people she represents, and that's exactly what she has continued to do — even as Republicans try to silence her.
That’s why my colleagues and I sent a letter to Secretary McMahon condemning her latest attack on federal employees dedicated to the support of students with disabilities and their families. We should be investing more in these vital programs, not less.
Dear Great Pumpkin, Trump's tariffs are making Halloween more expensive this year. The costs of costumes & candy have gone up across the country as Republicans continue to make life LESS affordable for families.
The Trump Administration's plan to deny social security disability benefits to older Americans is completely unacceptable & wrong. I joined Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz & Rep. John Larson in urging SSA to immediately halt any measure that reduces eligibility of earned benefits.
I led 165 House Democrats with Rep. John Larson to reject Trump’s plan to impose a MASSIVE CUT to Social Security by denying benefits to older folks with disabilities. Trump’s attack on Social Security means a 100% benefit cut for 400,000 low-income people. We can’t let it happen.
📍BAPS Diwali Celebration in Hudson County 🫶🪔 Honored to have joined BAPS in celebrating Diwali tonight. In these challenging times, celebrations like Diwali remind us of the enduring power of unity and resilience - light over darkness. Wishing everyone a healthy and prosperous new year!

Here are our latest efforts: 🔨 Calling on DOT’s Inspector General to investigate the FAA’s oversight of the helicopter tourism industry. 🔨 Demanding EPA protect New Jerseyans from helicopter noise pollution. We cannot relent in this fight. 🚁🔨
The government shutdown has not stopped us from our legislative work, as we continue to press the FAA and EPA to address helicopter traffic plaguing our communities.
🚨 Casework Highlight 🚨 A Jersey City constituent reached out to us for help with their green card application after experiencing significant delays. After contacting USCIS, we resolved the issue, and our constituent was able to receive their green card the following week.
📍 NY/NJ Baykeeper Fall Celebration in Weehawken ⚓️ Clean, accessible waterways are essential to resilient communities. Grateful to the Baykeeper and all advocates that attended for their tireless work and partnership in protecting our environment.
📍 Italian Heritage Parade in Bayonne 🇮🇹 An honor to be with so many of our Italian-American friends and neighbors today in Bayonne. Thank you to all the organizers. Always a privilege to celebrate with all of you 🫶
Thank you to everyone who joined our Career Fair yesterday! 📝 🤝 Our office is here to help ensure you have the tools & opportunities needed to thrive. Thank you again to all the vendors who showed up - it was incredible to see so much talent from our community in one space. 🫶
A Republican shutdown won't stop our team from serving you. Newark – Congress is coming to your corner to help with casework, passports, and anything else you need from a federal agency. We hope to see you there!
Not even American citizens are safe from Trump’s mass deportations. This was never about “dangerous criminals.” It’s about the Trump Admin's insatiable appetite to sow fear in our communities & tear families apart. We’ll keep fighting back, conducting lawful oversight, & defending due process.
