The biggest winners under the OBBB?
Private prison contractors who will be paid billions by ICE and also happen to be big Trump donors.

DOGE gutting @SocialSecurity has caused overwhelmed phone lines, website crashes, and reduced customer service.
While billionaires like Musk won't be affected, the lives of Americans who depend on social security are now in limbo.

ICYMI: I talked to Solomon Jones about how OBBBA will harm our community.

Islamophobia has no place in our country. Rep. Randy Fine's comments are vile, racist, and beneath an elected official who serves in the people's house. This kind of bigotry should not be tolerated.
@jayapal.house.gov: “Trump's promise to exempt taxes that tipped workers pay may sound good, but a look under the hood of the Republican tax law reveals a big betrayal and little benefit to the millions of Americans working for tips.”

The 14th Amendment was ratified 157 years ago, enshrining the rights to Equal Protection for citizens born or naturalized in the U.S. and Due Process for all in law.
Today, the Trump Administration is attacking these rights. I will continue to stand up for the rule of law.
Adding more than $3 trillion to the deficit will increase interest rates and inflation which will have devastating impacts to small businesses across America.

Today on @whyy.org 's Studio 2, @cherrigregg.bsky.social asked me what parts of OBBBA will hurt Pennsylvanians the most.
Let me count the ways:

Trump Administration last week: Tore Medicaid and SNAP away from millions of Americans.
Trump Administration this week: Gutting 30,000 VA staff making it harder for Veterans to receive the benefits they need.
The destruction and loss of life in Central Texas are heartbreaking.
My thoughts are with those recovering, grieving, and searching for their loved ones, and with our brave first responders as they continue to search for those who are still unaccounted for.
The answer is no.
Plain, clear, and simple: OBBB does not eliminate taxes on social security.
Anyone who says it does is lying.
White House blocked funding for after-school and summer programs, the day before funds were to be sent - this hurts poor kids the most.

Happy Independence Day 🇺🇸
For 249 years, Americans have fought to advance freedom, opportunity, and equality for all - to form a more perfect union.
Attempts to sell out our hard-won freedoms will always fail. We will never stop fighting to make the American Dream a reality for all.
The result of today’s vote on the OBBB is disappointing, to say the least.
But the fight isn’t over.
I’ll press on for a better future for all Americans.
House Republicans took an unconscionable vote to strip healthcare and food assistance from millions of Americans to give the ultrawealthy a tax cut.
I voted no.

Republicans are getting pressured by the White House to vote for a bill that they know takes away Healthcare and SNAP from Millions of Americans.
We’ll fight them for as long as it takes to stop the Big BS Bill from passing!
Reposted byCongresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon
As House Republicans attempt to take the next step, remember: this bill cuts health care from millions of Americans.
But don’t take our word for it – hear from Republicans in Congress:
