Education and a free press are the cornerstones of our democracy. Make no mistake: attacks on education and the media are attacks on our democracy.
To the LGBTQ+ community in NM and across the country, especially our Trans folx and young people—know you are loved, supported, and the world needs your light!
We are fighting every day to ensure your rights are protected! ❤️🏳️⚧️
Let us be clear—Elon Musk’s hacking of government systems is a blatant violation of the law and massive security breach.
This suit was filed yesterday.
Join us at 6:00 pm MT TONIGHT for a Telephone Town Hall!
Dial in at (833) 746-0068 or stream at stansbury.house.gov/live
The stream link will not go live until the event starts! Hope to talk to you soon!
Today we commemorate the ratification of the 15th Amendment, which extended voting rights to African American men. This monumental step towards equality reminds us that our democracy is strongest when every voice is heard.
We MUST protect voting rights for all.
This is Donald Trump’s America:
- Food prices up
- Housing costs up
- Stock Market down
- Trade wars imminent
- Elon Musk dismantling gov agencies, hacking fed systems, and accessing your sensitive data.
This is NOT what the American people voted for. We are fighting back!
Elon Musk is NOT:
- An elected official
- An appointee confirmed by the Senate
- Or even a legit fed
So why the hell has he been given access to fire federal employees, sensitive gov data, and federal payment systems.
He must be stopped.
On this day in 1848, the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo was signed—ensuring the rights of New Mexico’s people, lands, and waters as we entered the U.S. It’s a reminder of our deep-rooted history and the enduring promise of justice and equality for all of our communities. ❤️
ICYMI: Last week, I introduced critical legislation to support tribal water infrastructure across the U.S.
I am proud to introduce the WaterSMART Access For Tribes Act, which would help unlock millions of dollars for water projects for Tribes and Pueblos.
New Mexico—we know there’s a lot going on. That’s why we’re doing a Telephone Town Hall TOMORROW at 6 pm MT.
We’ll cover the federal funding freeze, federal and military workforce issues, immigration rights, and what we’re doing to help. Know your rights! Please tune in!
So grateful to have time back in New Mexico to reconnect with our communities and get organized for the fight ahead.
New Mexicans are strong, resilient and full of grit, determination and heart. We’re ready for the fight!
Thanks to Citizens United, America is being taken over by billionaires who are disrupting every aspect of American life.
We must fight back!
Happy birthday to our fearless leader! From fighting for clean air, land, and water, protecting bodily autonomy, to working on behalf of everyday Americans, you inspire us to work towards a better future every single day.
Enjoy your day, you deserve it!
- NM-01 staff ❤️
85 years ago, the first Social Security check was issued. Social Security has been a lifeline for many New Mexicans, but that is on the chopping block in the Trump Administration.
I will fight back to ensure that every senior in NM has the security they need and deserve.
New Mexico: the State Legislature is in full swing!
Grateful to be home with our change makers and dragon slayers fighting the good fight here at home. And grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside our amazing state, tribal and local leaders in the fight!
Tonight, our hearts are with the family and loved ones of those lost in the crash from Wichita to D.C.
Thank you to all of the first responders on the scene. ❤️🙏
This is an absolute betrayal of our Service Members and everyone who proudly serves.
The White House is trying to claim the federal funding freeze that sent millions of Americans into chaos yesterday is a “hoax.”
Firefighters, police, state, local and tribal governments…
Dude, we have the receipts. And, it’s your own memo. We will not be gaslit.
Donald Trump calls his Admin the “New Golden Age," but let's call it what it is: “The Great Betrayal.”
He promised he would address the cost of living and issues affecting Americans. But in just seven days, he's disrupted every aspect of American life.
He is chaos.
