With authoritarianism once again on the rise, we must never forget the incredible bravery of these young Americans who were instrumental in defeating fascism in Europe and preserving the liberties of the free world.
Today marks the 81st anniversary of D-Day, when over 70,000 Americans stormed the beaches of Normandy to push back Hitler’s Nazi forces.

Senate Republicans aren’t bashing the budget bill because of its’ immoral cuts. They are upset because it doesn’t CUT ENOUGH.
Now, they are even considering further cuts to MEDICARE, after constantly accusing Democrats of scare tactics.

As Former NATO Ambassador, Julianne Smith said in the @houseforeign.bsky.social hearing, U.S. leadership is indispensable and we must stay prepared to deter our adversaries.
Putin is escalating attacks on Ukraine. Their sovereignty and freedom are on the line.
Republicans cannot stay silent as Trump scolds our NATO allies and parrots Putin’s talking points.
This man is woefully unqualified to respond to climate change and extreme weather emergencies.
Coastal states like Rhode Island are most vulnerable to climate change. On World Environment Day and every day, we need to stand up and protect our climate.
Trump is laser focused on destroying our climate by:
💨Slashing EPA emissions standards
🌊 Firing critical NOAA employees
🔋Blocking clean energy
📚Cutting research funding
🚨‼️Republicans' budget bill will explode our country's debt by $2.4 TRILLION. 🚨‼️
It's fiscally irresponsible, morally bankrupt, and mortgages our nation's future to gift a tax break to billionaires, raise taxes on the poor, AND take away millions of Americans' health care.
Spoke to Rhode Island's own @billbartholomew.bsky.social about the stakes of @realDonaldTrump's wealth transfer from the poorest 10% to the top 10%.

70,000 Rhode Islanders won’t have health care if Republican's budget bill becomes law.
💉Older Rhode Islander's with diabetes, will be forced to ration their insulin.
🤰🏻Moms-to-be won't get prenatal care.
👶 Kids won’t be able to go to the pediatrician.
These are the stakes.
Roughly 28% of Rhode Islanders rely on Medicaid and without the health care it affords people will “literally die.”
One life lost prematurely to these cuts is one too many.
These are the very high stakes.
This taco Tuesday, Trump’s trade war continues to create lasting damage — raising costs and uncertainty.
Rhode Islanders deserve better.
As Trump slashes science spending, we could, quite literally, lose some of our best researchers to China.
This hurts our research progress and leaves a lasting mark on the economy, higher education, and national security.
The EPA has experts who research toxins in our air, water, and soil.
But Trump is trying to illegally shut down EPA research laboratories – removing a critical service that keeps our communities safe.
It’s unacceptable and I joined Rep. Zoe Lofgren in calling on the EPA to restore this office.
Every year, from June 1 to November 30, Rhode Island faces the Atlantic hurricane season with more frequent storms and disruption.
If the President was really concerned about “merit” he would have hired a FEMA director who knows what hurricane season is and how it can hurt Americans.
Help break ground on the new Crossroads RI Health and Housing Apartments that will support our neighbors who’ve faced homelessness and medical challenges.
This project will build a future of hope and dignity and a supportive, health-focused place to call home.🏡
