I spent the afternoon with Cranston teachers and the Cranston Teachers Alliance to hear directly about what they need in the classroom, and to share my work pushing back against draconian cuts to the Department of Education and other programs that help teachers succeed.
This is what dysfunction looks like: open enrollment is underway, premiums are soaring, and millions still don’t know if the Affordable Care Act tax credits they count on will be restored.
We need to act now to extend the ACA.

Members of Congress should serve the American people, not try to get rich off their positions. I will keep fighting until our bill to ban congressional stock trading passes and we finally clean up the corruption in Washington.
From @wpri12.bsky.social 🎥
Today I joined the Johnston PD to introduce two new police motorcycles and radio equipment that will help officers keep RIers safe and respond to emergencies faster.
I secured the federal funding for these upgrades because supporting the safety of officers and civilians must be a priority.
Proud to secure $750k for Wood River Health to expand its Hope Valley facility.
With patient visits doubling, this upgrade will help more Rhode Islanders get the quality, affordable care they rely on.
A new report shows Rhode Islanders paid an extra $579 per person this year because of inflation. For families already stretched thin, that is unbearable.
We have to end Trump’s tariffs, fund health care, and get affordable clean energy on to the grid.
Sherry came to our office after years of trying to get her father’s Coast Guard service records.
We helped secure them in weeks so he can be properly honored.
Need help with a federal agency? Call our office at (401) 244-1201!
Members of Congress should not be allowed to trade stocks. It’s time to end insider trading and bring our bill to the floor for a vote.
A family of three with a college-aged son in SK is facing more than $20,000 in higher health insurance costs next year. That’s a 649% increase.
This is why the fight to extend ACA credits must continue.
Jim Brown’s wife Donna has lived in the US legally for 47 years.
The only crime she has committed was writing two bad checks for $60 a decade ago.
Trump is trying to deport her, and has kept her imprisoned for four months.
Locking up this grandmother makes no one safer.
While Trump give billions of dollars to Argentina, millions of Americans are facing financial ruin from rising health care costs.
It's time for Trump and Congressional Republicans to wake up, and extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits.
Trump is calling for violence against my colleagues.
I upset some in my own party by voting for a resolution condemning the killing of Charlie Kirk bc I believe we must end the cycle of political violence.
Republicans in Congress need to find the courage to condemn this threat.
Trump promised to lower the cost of living on day one, but with Thanksgiving around the corner, his tariffs are still driving up the price of just about everything.
Stop focusing on ballrooms. Repeal the tariffs. And lower costs for Rhode Islanders.
Hearings are helpful, but the American people are demanding a ban.
Tell Speaker Johnson the time has come to finally pass a strong, enforceable ban on Congressional stock trading.
Despite backing from Leader Jeffries, Donald Trump, and most importantly, the overwhelming majority of Americans, no proposal has received a vote.
Earlier this year, I introduced the Restore Trust in Congress Act with a bipartisan group of members to end stock trading in Congress once and for all.
It was a major breakthrough, with support from members across the political spectrum.
Today, a House committee held a hearing on Congressional stock trading. It’s a good step, but now Speaker Johnson needs to give us a vote. 🧵
Donald Trump’s policies are driving up costs for working people, from energy bills to groceries and other everyday essentials.
All while he delivers tax breaks for his rich friends.
House Admin held a hearing today on our bill to ban congressional stock trading.
This is a good step, but hearings alone won’t restore trust in Congress. Americans want action.
House leadership must bring our bipartisan bill to ban Congressional stock trading up for a vote.
Last month, we celebrated a victory: food aid from @edesianutrition.bsky.social is flowing again to hungry children around the world after being cut off by the Trump Admin.
The stoppage never should have happened. But we fought back, and delivered a new shot at life for countless children.
