Veterans shouldn't feel this way- this is unacceptable.

Kim Davis—who illegally denied same-sex couples marriage licenses—asked SCOTUS to overturn marriage equality as she seeks to avoid paying damages to those whose rights she violated.
The Justices should not take this case, because marriage equality should NOT be up for debate.
I stand with AFGE in opposing the Trump administration's illegal attacks on VA employees. Our veterans rely on the care and compassion they receive from VA staff. These attacks only ensure that veterans will get worse care from less effective employees.
I also met with constituents of East Lakeview last week. We discussed the impacts of Trump’s Big Ugly Bill, and how I’m using my voice and my vote in Congress to push back.
Every Tuesday, Holy Covenant United Methodist Church hosts Dignity Dinner—where they serve a free, three-course meal to anyone in need. I was happy to join them at last week’s dinner.
We have to keep in mind that hunger impacts people near and far, including our own neighbors.
@chuygarcia.house.gov and I were glad to join United Power for Action and Justice for their “Reclaiming Chicago” event recently. We celebrated the creation of 75 new homes built in Rep. Garcia’s district.
We must keep building to keep housing costs down.
Earlier this week, I got to meet with some of our seniors at Central Baptist Village in Norridge. I enjoyed hearing their perspectives and opinions on the pressing issues we face today.
Trump is trying to ban the VA from providing #abortion care to our veterans – including in cases of rape or incest.
The Reproductive Freedom for Veterans Act, a bill led by @juliabrownley.house.gov and Rep. John Larson, will stop Trump in his tracks. I’m proud to cosponsor it.
Really enjoyed attending Dim Sum & Then Some with the Chinese Mutual Aid Association!🥟☀️
Organizations like the CMAA do so much for our community—we must keep protecting their federal funding from the Trump administration.
Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth are forcing all trans service members to resign. But the Air Force is also denying them their rightfully-earned retirement pay — solely based on their identity.
This discrimination is illegal, unacceptable, and unAmerican.
Gaza needs substantial aid now, but this mysterious organization has no humanitarian aid experience. Since the GHF began operating in Gaza, over 1,400 Palestinians have been killed seeking aid. This simply cannot continue. (2/2)
I’m proud to join @casten.house.gov and over 90 other Democrats in demanding the Trump administration conduct oversight of the #Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. (1/2)
Honoring our veterans doesn’t stop at thank you. They deserve quality care, but Donald Trump and Republicans are defunding the VA.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social are committed to working together to reverse these cuts and protect our veterans.
Today is National Purple Heart Day, when we celebrate the courage and selflessness of our Purple Heart recipients.
Thank you for your service to our nation and devotion to our freedom.
My decision to call for the recognition of a Palestinian state was not made lightly. A separate state will establish mutual security for both Palestinians and Israelis, and is the best path to a lasting peace.
Today, we celebrate 60 years since the passage of the #VRA, which banned racial discrimination at the ballot box.
This week's fight in Texas proves that the work isn't over. I'm proud to support the Freedom to Vote Act to make sure everyone's vote counts.
I want to make clear that Americans remain dedicated to ensuring the rights of the Palestinian people to a national homeland are recognized, respected, and fulfilled.
See my full statement below. (2/2)
While recognition cannot in one sweeping stroke create a state, and much work remains to be done, I issue this call to reaffirm my commitment to Palestinian self-determination. (1/2)
Here’s the truth: vaccines save lives.
This National Immunization Awareness Month, please join me in the fight to protect access to vaccines and reverse Trump's cuts to critical immunization research.
Trump’s firing of the Bureau of Labor Statistics Commissioner threatens trust in government.
Americans need to trust government data is accurate—they can only do that if the Bureau stays nonpartisan.
