I loved spending time at the Humane Society of West Michigan today and meeting the incredible staff and volunteers who care for our community’s animals. From rescues to adoptions, their work makes a real difference every day. And yes, I made a new furry friend along the way.
Honored to receive the CWA People’s Champion Award from Communications Workers of America Local 4034. I am grateful for their partnership and proud to stand with workers across West Michigan as we fight for fair wages, strong unions, and safe, good-paying jobs.
If a pilot is flying in the same sky, they should follow the same safety rules. My Fatigued Pilot Protection Act makes sure cargo pilots get the same rest protections as passenger pilots. Safety shouldn’t depend on who’s on the plane.
Great conversation today with West Michigan labor leaders. From workforce training to fair wages and job site safety, these are the voices shaping our region’s economy. I’ll keep fighting in Congress to stand up for workers and make sure West Michigan jobs stay strong.
On Cost of Living Day, I’m doubling down on the work to lower everyday costs for West Michigan families. As a founder of the Lowering Costs Caucus, I’m tackling high prices, strengthening competition, and putting more money back in your pocket. Families deserve an economy that works for them.
Thrilled to see innovation taking flight at Gerald R. Ford International Airport. Supporting new tech & runway safety tools shows Michigan’s leadership in aviation, job growth, and future mobility. Investments like this help our region stay competitive and connected. ✈️
Today we remember the six million Jewish people murdered during the Holocaust. On International Holocaust Remembrance Day and every day, we recommit to standing up against antisemitism and ensure that the horrors of the Holocaust are never forgotten.
Cold temps mean icy runways and higher costs for airports. That’s why I’m proud to co-lead the bipartisan FROST Act, which passed the House last September and helps airports cover de-icing expenses so travelers can get where they’re going safely and on time. Now it’s time for the Senate to pass this
Due to severe weather conditions, tonight’s Congressional Dialogue Series event has been canceled to keep everyone safe. Please stay warm, travel safely, and take care of one another. We look forward to rescheduling soon and continuing this important conversation about housing in West Michigan.
Happy Birthday to the great state of Michigan! 🎉 Today we celebrate our state’s admission to the Union on January 26, 1837. Proud to represent a place defined by hard work, innovation, and strong communities.
I visited Ride YourWay in Caledonia today to see how they are improving access to non-emergency medical transportation across West Michigan. Lack of transportation should never stand between someone and their health.
I spent the morning at the West Michigan Innovation Expo talking with local manufacturing leaders about supply chains, workforce needs, and how we can keep West Michigan competitive in a global economy. I’ll keep working to make sure federal policy is supporting the workers who power our communities
Congratulations to Grand Rapids for being ranked number 2 in the nation for most confident Main Streets! This recognition shows the strength, resilience, and optimism of our small business owners and local entrepreneurs who are the backbone of our community. www.mlive.com/news/ann-arb...
Is a federal agency giving you the runaround? Do you need help getting your Social Security, your tax return, or another federal benefit? My team and I are here to help. Please give us a call at (616) 451-8383 if we can help you like we helped Jaze!
Dangerously cold temps are headed our way this weekend. If you or someone you know needs a warm place to stay, warming shelters are open across our community. Please share this information and help make sure everyone stays safe. www.wzzm13.com/article/news...
Join me for the first installment of my Congressional Dialogue Series, a new space for real conversations about the issues that matter most to West Michigan. First up: discussing the skyrocketing cost of housing and what solutions can look like for our communities. January 27, 2026 | 6–7 PM
