Supporting the men and women who have served our nation must transcend partisan ideology because supporting veterans is always the right thing to do. We must do everything in our power to serve them as well as they have served us.
The Trump Administration’s plan to cut over 80,000 employees at the Department of Veterans Affairs, in addition to the 2,400 VA employees who have already been terminated, is an alarming move that threatens the health and well-being of our nation’s veterans.
Medicaid is a cornerstone of our commitment to providing healthcare to those who need it most. Every American deserves access to timely, affordable, high-quality care. That is why I will never stop fighting to protect Medicaid – for our children, for our seniors, and for everyone who depends on it.
I will fight relentlessly to protect our public schools, defend students’ rights, and ensure that education remains a national priority – not a casualty of reckless ideology. Read my full statement here:
A great nation is only as strong as the education of its people. The Department of Education plays a vital role in ensuring that every child – regardless of their background, where they live, or their ability – has access to a quality education.
On today’s Democratic Daily Download, I covered Trump’s Executive Order to dismantle the Department of Education—paving the way for Republicans to slash support for students, teachers, and schools. @housedemocrats.bsky.social will fight this every step of the way.
