House Republicans’ SAVE Act is yet another extreme voter suppression bill that raises barriers to the ballot box and will surely disenfranchise Americans who deserve to have their voice heard in our democracy, including women, military voters, minorities, & more. My full statement here:
Our legislation would create a new program dedicated to helping working class families in Missouri and across the country afford reflective roofing products that will keep their homes cool, costs low, and extreme heat at bay. I’ll keep fighting to deliver lower energy bills for #MO05.
As global temperatures continue to rise, it’s imperative that Congress provide families with innovative ways to beat the heat & lower energy costs. I’m proud to introduce the Cool Roof Rebate Act with @foushee.house.gov & @repraulruizmd.bsky.social to do just that. cleaver.house.gov/media-center...
Today, House Republicans will vote on a budget resolution that opens the door to massive cuts to Medicaid & SNAP, another tax cut for the wealthy & well-connected, and the explosion of America’s deficit. It’s more reckless economics from the GOP that will hurt middle-class families. I’m voting no.
The Republican budget kicks millions of Americans off their health care just to hand trillions in giveaways to Trump's billionaire donors. While Republicans betray the middle class, Democrats are fighting for American families. @congressmanboyle.bsky.social on today's Democratic Daily Download:
As President Trump allows Elon Musk to gut essential services at the Social Security Administration, Missourians will be hurt more than most by these backdoor cuts to Social Security. I’ll keep fighting to protect the field offices in #MO05 for our seniors who have earned these benefits.
In less than one week, many Americans will no longer be able to apply for Social Security benefits over the phone, setting the stage for disruptions and upheaval. Nearly 6 million seniors live more than 46.6 miles, roundtrip, from a field office, per a new analysis. trib.al/5XSPqyL
A choropleth map of the United States showing the share of seniors who live at least 46.6 miles round-trip from the nearest Social Security Field Office. Rates are especially high in the Midwest and Great Plains states, with Montana (40%), South Dakota (45%), North Dakota (49%) and Wyoming (65%) topping the list.
Breaking the law and violating longstanding privacy protections—which protect American citizens and legal residents—to investigate “suspected” undocumented immigrants is dangerous and un-American. Congress and the courts cannot allow a lawless president to embark down this dark path.
🚨 NEWS: The IRS and DHS have signed an agreement to share confidential tax data for suspected undocumented immigrants. Follows our reporting that this deal was imminent — and would cover **7 million** suspected undocumented folks. More to come… www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...
Elon Musk’s backdoor cuts to Social Security are already hurting Americans who rely on these hard-earned benefits. It’s not about rooting out waste and fraud—it’s about gutting federal programs to fund another tax cut for billionaires like him and President Trump.
Retirees and disabled people are facing chronic website outages and other access problems as they attempt to log in to their online Social Security accounts, even as they are being directed to do more of their business with the agency online.
As President Trump & Elon Musk gut federal programs that support local libraries, museums, and arts programs, I met with the Mid-America Arts Alliance to discuss the economic impact these cuts are having in Missouri. We’ll keep fighting to protect the jobs & joy these programs bring to #MO05
LIHEAP is a vital program for millions of families nationwide, ensuring households in #MO05 and beyond can afford to keep the heat on in the dead of winter and keep cool in the dog days of summer. I joined @repchrispappas.bsky.social in condemning President Trump & Elon Musk’s cuts to the program.
Billionaires like Donald Trump and Elon Musk will be able to weather the storm and recover from their self-inflicted economic crisis—but working class families will pay the price. Republicans in Congress must push back against this madness before it’s too late. www.nbcnews.com/business/bus...
Just a handful of Republicans in Congress can stop the economic catastrophe that President Trump has inflicted on the American people—but they must have the courage to stand up to the Mad King. I hope they’ll find it before it’s too late for millions of American families. apnews.com/article/trum...
While Missourians’ retirement portfolios continue to plummet, the president is focused on golf. Completely out of touch and deeply disrespectful to families that are hurting due to his incompetent economic policy.
The stock markets have lost more than $6 trillion in value since President Donald Trump’s decision to upend the global economic order and impose sweeping tariffs last week. But on Sunday, the president won. Trump said he took first in the Senior Club Championship at his golf club. wapo.st/42b7C7O

In response to these reckless cuts to local museums and libraries across the country, I teamed up with Rep. Titus and 125 other @housedemocrats.bsky.social to call on the Administration to immediately reverse course and restore funding.
The National WWI Museum and Memorial is a local treasure that honors the service and sacrifice of the men & women who fought in the Great War. It’s deeply frustrating that President Trump is allowing Elon Musk to cut funding for this institution that serves our community. fox4kc.com/news/nationa...
