149,674 people in IL-06 rely on Social Security benefits. I’ll keep fighting to ensure Americans can access their hard-earned benefits.
In IL-06, over 130,000 people rely on Medicaid. This includes 17,000 seniors over 65. Last week, I visited Lacey Creek Supportive Living in Downers Grove to discuss the impacts of President Trump’s Budget Betrayal and its nearly $1 trillion cut to Medicaid.

Libraries provide critical resources for our communities. Earlier this week, I joined Illinois State Library Director Greg McCormick for a tour of Indian Prairie Library in Darien.
Last week, I visited the Alsip Fire Department. We discussed firefighter recruitment, budgetary challenges, and how they keep the community safe every day.
Women, Infants, and Children Clinics help people in our community stay healthy. Last week, I visited the Community and Economic Development Association (CEDA) of Cook County’s WIC Clinic in Oak Lawn to learn about their programs and how SNAP cuts will impact their services.
Last week, I toured DuPage County Animal Services in Wheaton. I enjoyed seeing their new renovations, which help them care for more animals and respond to animal emergencies in DuPage County.
My office is hosting a commemoration to recognize veterans of the Vietnam War on Sunday, August 10. We will honor veterans’ selfless courage and discuss how Congress can honor their service.
