Why would any elected official vote for legislation that saddles the country with massive amounts of additional borrowing while simultaneously making most Americans sicker, hungrier, and poorer?
Anyone who voted for this bill should be ashamed of themselves.

Congressional Republicans are not only cutting food assistance programs for children, but they are also writing the law in a way that actively encourages states to increase their payment error rate.
So much for caring about waste, fraud, and abuse.

Whether or not you support the budget betrayal is not a Democratic or Republican issue. It's a moral issue.
It's a question of whether you want to leave behind a better world for your children and grandchildren.
I do, so I'm voting HELL NO.

Trump's big, brutal bill guts the programs that help lower pollution.
I'm heading to DC to vote NO on behalf of everyone who wants to breathe clean air.
Last month, my STEM Scholars met with the ATF at the Aurora Police Department. They learned about ATF’s work across the country and got to see the technology they use to keep us all safe.
The Republican budget plan will increase your energy bills.
Donald Trump does not want you to have access to cheap and reliable energy because that means fossil fuel companies will see their profits shrink.

The Republican budget bill would put 93 nursing homes in Illinois at risk of closure. Medicaid cuts are a matter of life and death for families in our district and throughout the country.

What role should the United States take in global affairs?
My simple answer is Fezzik, the character played by André the Giant in The Princess Bride.

Ten years ago, the Obergefell v. Hodges decision legalized same-sex marriage across the US. I am proud to stand with the LGBTQ+ community today and every day.

Last weekend, I hosted my annual event to honor participants in this year's Congressional Art Competition. I'm always amazed by the artistic talents among the 6th District's high school students. Congratulations to our 1st place winner, Zoe, whose art will be displayed in the US Capitol this year.
No president has the authority to bomb another country that does not pose an imminent threat to the US without the approval of Congress. Americans deserve to have a say in whether or not their children and grandchildren will be involved in another war.
Freedom delayed is freedom denied. Juneteenth reminds us to celebrate progress but
also to confront the truths about our nation’s history and the work that remains to be done.
I’m happy to announce that applications for my fall 2025 internship program are open! College students with ties to Illinois' 6th Congressional District are encouraged to apply to my Lombard or Washington, DC office.

This week, my office is hosting office hours to meet with veterans and their families to discuss issues related to the VA at my Oak Forest satellite office on Monday, June 16th and Tuesday, June 17th from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
On Saturday, June 21 at 2:00 pm, my office is hosting a Congressional Art Competition Gala at the Willowbrook Community Resource Center to honor students who participated in this year’s competition.
I hope you’ll check it out and see fantastic artwork!
Recently, I hosted a town hall where I was asked whether or not we should impeach Donald Trump. It's a question I've gotten a lot lately, so I wanted to share my thoughts with you.
With that in mind, you can read my full opinion here:

This is a disgraceful and unacceptable attack by the Trump Administration on a United States Senator.
Make no mistake — Secretary Noem could have stopped this. She must be held accountable.

June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month. I am proud to work with @AlzILAdvocacy to raise awareness for the 7.2 million Americans - including 250,600 Illinoisans - impacted by Alzheimer’s or dementia. #ENDALZ
