This editorial endorsement for me to lead Democrats on the Natural Resources Committee is particularly close to my heart -- one from our very own Santa Rosa Press Democrat. Thank you!

My new draft legislation, the RESTORE Act, is intended to reflect that vision -- and I look forward to gathering feedback to improve our ideas in future iterations.

It’s time for the federal govt to do more than just ‘consult’ impacted tribes when projects are developed; tribes should be at the table from start to finish, with an opportunity to meaningfully share in the economic benefits of clean energy.
It’s been a privilege to work alongside so many fantastic legislators on the House Natural Resources Committee during my time in Congress, and I’m grateful they want to entrust me with leading the committee next Congress.
Thank you for this endorsement!
My full statement here ⬇️
I am deeply honored and grateful to receive these endorsements from my valued tribal partners.
If I am fortunate enough to be elected as Ranking Member, I will be sure to represent the voices and opinions of every tribe from every region.

I really enjoyed meeting with Governor Phillips and Councilman Moquino of the Ohkay Owingeh Tribal Nation in New Mexico today to talk about the importance of their water rights settlement. These conversations are critical for creating a secure water future for everyone.
These stalwarts of Democratic leadership on the Natural Resources Committee collectively represent more than 100 years of service, wisdom, and expertise.
I've been lucky enough to count them as both mentors and friends during my time in office, and I'm honored to have this public endorsement!
Qe must be unified and prepared as we brace for the impending storm of a 2nd Trump admin.
The CPC will be a critical bulwark against Trump’s Project 2025, while serving as a beacon of good policies that put working people 1st, champion enviro justice, and build an equitable future for all.
I’m honored to have the trust and confidence of my CPC colleagues in continuing to serve in this leadership position and to be part of CPC’s new, dynamic leadership team as we fight to defend progressive values and priorities.

I am honored to have their backing and the support of many others as we look towards championing environmental justice, amplifying tribal priorities, and protecting our most precious resources from Trump’s relentless attacks on the environment in the 119th Congress.
Immensely grateful for this show of support from my colleagues as I seek to lead the Natural Resources Committee. Hitting the ground running is essential to fighting Trump’s Project 2025, and frontliners know exactly what it takes to get the job done.

Together, we can work to create water supply certainty for tribes, states, and non-tribal users alike.
I was honored by his invitation to visit Navajo lands & look forward to visiting!
Today, I had a productive meeting with Navajo Nation President Nygren to discuss the critical importance of tribal water rights settlements. These agreements provide access to water for communities historically deprived of this vital resource and resolve long-standing disputes.
Officials with the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services are actively responding to the earthquakes this morning in our district.
A tsunami warning is in effect. Please stay vigilant and follow guidance from local emergency responders.

Some exciting news to wrap up the week: my Coastal Habitat Conservation Act passed the Senate and is on its way to President Biden's desk to become law!

Democrats will do everything we can this Congress and in the years ahead to Stop Project 2025 and protect the American people from what lies ahead.
Trump is already packing his administration with the authors of Project 2025.
Project 2025 was always the playbook. But since they spelled out every horrifying detail of their takeover plan, we have the roadmap to stop it.
