BREAKING: A high level information security source inside the Department of Defense says they were ordered by political appointees to ignore information security regulations and install Signal on government phones for senior leaders.
Turns out it wasn't DEI or trans servicemembers who put our security at risk, it was our unqualified Secretary of Defense.
The biggest issue here is that this happened and our servicemembers could have died.
The concerns we had about Sec. Hegseth's nomination were warranted. He should resign.

Today, I called on my colleagues to listen to working people instead of talking at them.
Every Member of Congress should filter their work by asking, “Does this help working people?" Until then, we will keep losing support from working Americans & Republicans will get away with lip service.
Washington IS slow and ineffective, but it's not because of dedicated civil servants, unions, DEI, or whatever else. It’s slow and ineffective because some of my colleagues think their constituents live in the White House, and not in their districts. (end)
What’s worse is House Republicans could stop this. They control what bills we consider and debate. And yet, they’d rather use the precious time we have before hurricane and fire season to talk about bills like this.
All the while, costs continue to rise. The Social Security system is breaking. Veterans are losing healthcare. We have a major national security breach, that needs to be addressed. This is what people are losing sleep over, and Congress is debating the name of the Gulf of Mexico???
This hearing is an example of a much larger problem. We are wasting the American people’s time and money on my colleagues’ ambition to be President Trump’s favorite Member of Congress.
This close to hurricane & fire season, we need to be talking about protecting our communities and how we are going to mitigate the impacts of this administration defunding key agencies like USFS and NOAA.
Before this administration, we were working on serious wildland firefighting reform, protecting public lands, and recovering America’s wildlife. Now, we have to debate pointless bills like this because my colleagues in the Majority won’t stand up and say enough is enough.
Almost all of my colleagues on the Natural Resources Committee realize that this bill is a total waste of our time. They know we have other pressing priorities to address.
I am the most senior Democrat on the Subcommittee that just debated Marjorie Taylor Greene’s bill to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

As fire & hurricane season near, we need to talk about disaster prep & deal with DOGE's cuts to NOAA, NWS, & more.
Yet this is what the Majority wants to focus on.
If my Republican colleagues are so pro-life, they would support programs that children & working families rely on.
Medicaid is the largest insurer of children. SNAP benefits help kids have with nutritious meals in and out of school. If you are really pro-life, work with us to fund these programs.
Fascism rises slowly then quickly, and we’re in the quickly part now. The only way we are going to stop it is by standing up.

As someone with a learning disability, I relied on special education programs and I know these services play a key role in providing pathways to family wage jobs and independence and success that comes with that.
