Our farmers have barely recovered from Trump’s first term tariffs. Now he is doing it again, the same exact way, but magically expects this time to be different.
Let’s be clear: tariffs are not inherently bad; tariffs are PART of the solution to help domestic manufacturing. Tariffs paired with DOMESTIC INVESTMENT, in the sectors which the tariffs target, can spur domestic growth. Without that, they raise prices, screw workers & hurt American consumers.
If President Trump and House Republicans want to find fraud in Medicaid or Medicare, they shouldn’t start with working people or seniors, they should start with providers who rip off the government for their gain. You know, the kind FL Senator Rick Scott’s company was fined $1.6 BILLION for.
If President Trump wants to address fraud, he’d look at the billions in subsidies we give to big oil, or big pharma, or airlines, or the banks. Working people, who are overwhelmingly honest and hardworking, shouldn’t have their pockets picked until the fat cats get theirs checked first.
Whenever you hear them talk about ‘government efficiency’ remember that so far they have refused to invest a single dollar into updating the computers, systems, and infrastructure at agencies like the IRS and SSA. You know improvements that would actually help us DELIVER SERVICES faster.

Today we learned of more DOGE firings at NOAA. Last week, my coastal communities told me they feared this day would come.
Our coastal, rural, and wildfire impacted communities are less safe today because of these cuts. They need to be reversed, especially so close to wildfire season.
