Hey, that was fun - let's do it again! On Friday, we had over 6,200 Oregonians from the 4th District call in. In response, my team & I will host ANOTHER tele-townhall this MONDAY at 5:30PM. We will be joined by OR Attorney General @danrayfield.bsky.social!! Fill out the form below to join us!
This International Women’s Day, we remember that while today women voting, having credit cards, or holding a job is normal – it was once a radical idea. The achievements of the women's movement show us that progress is possible, but the state of the country makes clear that we have to keep fighting.
👋Fellow Democrats, the party needs to rethink all the anti-tariff absolutism. I’m a Rust Belt Democrat from swingy Western PA—where lousy trade deals like NAFTA stripped us for parts. Democrats need to break free from the zombie horde of neoliberal economists who think tariffs are always bad. 🧵
If you actually stood for veterans, you would NEVER gut the VA and try to privatize it. You would never attach a profit motive to caring for our wounded men and women in uniform. You would do everything and anything to give the VA all that they need to help our heroes.
BREAKING: Internal memo reveals that the Trump administration plans to cut over 80,000 workers from Veterans Affairs. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
What happened tonight made it clear where Donald Trump plans to take this country, but we don't have to go along with it. As a third-generation union member, I can tell you that right now isn’t the time to sit back. We organize and we speak out.
As he rambles, don't forget one simple fact: When Trump took office, our economy was estimated to grow by nearly 4% this year. Today, it is expected to get 2.8% SMALLER. Our economic outlook has shrunk nearly 7% in 42 DAYS Eggs? More expensive. Gas prices? Rising.
🚨 “The agriculture industry lost $26 BILLION from retaliatory tariffs in 2018 and 2019 — the first time Trump launched a trade war” Our farmers have barely recovered from Trump’s first term tariffs. Now he is doing it again, the same exact way, but magically expects this time to be different.
Let’s be clear: tariffs are not inherently bad; tariffs are PART of the solution to help domestic manufacturing. Tariffs paired with DOMESTIC INVESTMENT, in the sectors which the tariffs target, can spur domestic growth. Without that, they raise prices, screw workers & hurt American consumers.
If President Trump and House Republicans want to find fraud in Medicaid or Medicare, they shouldn’t start with working people or seniors, they should start with providers who rip off the government for their gain. You know, the kind FL Senator Rick Scott’s company was fined $1.6 BILLION for.
If President Trump wants to address fraud, he’d look at the billions in subsidies we give to big oil, or big pharma, or airlines, or the banks. Working people, who are overwhelmingly honest and hardworking, shouldn’t have their pockets picked until the fat cats get theirs checked first.
Whenever you hear them talk about ‘government efficiency’ remember that so far they have refused to invest a single dollar into updating the computers, systems, and infrastructure at agencies like the IRS and SSA. You know improvements that would actually help us DELIVER SERVICES faster.
Elon Musk and House Republicans want you to think that everything they cut is just a salary, a random program or a number on a spreadsheet. But these are essential programs and public servants our communities rely on. If you or someone you know has been impacted, please speak out & share your story!
Calling veterans lazy?! These people have no shame. How low do you have to go before you admit you made a mistake? You can’t say you respect our veterans while saying they aren’t worthy of a job. These people literally put their lives on the line to protect and serve our country.
Alina Habba on veterans who have been fired from government jobs: "Perhaps they're not fit to have a job at this moment."
This was a set up. It was always the plan to publicly berate him as political theater — that’s why they invited TASS (Russian media) but not AP or Reuters. Standing with a country that’s fighting for its freedom is literally the most American thing you could do. We’ve lost that.
Trump to Zelenskyy: "Don't tell us what we're gonna feel. You're in no position to dictate that. You're in no position to dictate what we're gonna feel. We're gonna feel very good and very strong. You're right now not in a very good position. You're gambling with World War 3."
Today we learned of more DOGE firings at NOAA. Last week, my coastal communities told me they feared this day would come. Our coastal, rural, and wildfire impacted communities are less safe today because of these cuts. They need to be reversed, especially so close to wildfire season.
