Thank you to Governor Pritzker and the organizers of today’s event for bringing leaders together to stand against harmful Medicaid cuts. Medicaid provides healthcare for 3.4 million Illinoisans, including 1.4 million children. I will continue fighting to protect this essential program

John Deere once said, “The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection of human beings.” #johndeere stakeholders voted down the anti-Diversity resolution and I applaud them for standing up for Diversity, Equity Inclusion

Trump and billionaire Elon Musk are betraying everyday Americans. Nearly 6,000 veterans have lost their jobs, left struggling to feed their families, while House Republicans stand by and do nothing These are the same veterans who risked everything for our country and now they’re being tossed aside
The GOP budget is a disaster for working families. It slashes Medicaid for 268K people in IL-01, guts SNAP for 206K, & hands tax breaks to billionaires. I voted NO—because a budget should put **people** first, not the wealthy few. #ProtectMedicaid #NoCuts
I stand with my @housedemocrats.bsky.social colleagues to reject the reckless Republican budget. Their plan guts Medicaid, punishes seniors and families, and hands giveaways to billionaires—while millions struggle. We won’t let it happen. Not on our watch. youtube.com/shorts/wkmoj...
Medicaid is a lifeline for millions of Americans, yet Extreme MAGA Republicans are pushing reckless cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. I will fight every step of the way to protect these vital programs and ensure healthcare remains a right #ProtectMedicaid #SaveSocialSecurity

Yesterday, I proudly stood alongside @pressley.house.gov as she reintroduced H.R. 40, the bill to establish a federal commission to study and develop reparations proposals for Black Americans. I am honored to carry forward the legacy of Congressman John Conyers and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

We cannot let @elonmusk and his team of unelected oligarchs attack #SocialSecurity #Medicare and #Medicaid. I will stand up to @DOGE and any other member of the Billionaire Bros Boi's club to protect America's Senior
As I said yesterday at the #USAID Rally,
#elonmusk is not elected, does not have a security clearance, and is not even a real Federal Employee. We refuse to allow him to bring #Apartheid to America!
I had the honor of speaking at the #USAID rally to reaffirm our commitment to humanitarian aid and global stability. Cutting foreign aid, as Donald Trump has, is not just shortsighted it is dangerous. It weakens our alliances, destabilizes regions, and abandons those in need.
#ForeignAidMatters
This #BlackHistoryMonth, we honor Dr. King & Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr.’s fight for justice. But threats like Project 2025 & the MAGA war on DEI seek to erase Black history & Civil Rights progress. We must stand strong—Black history is American history, and we won’t let them erase it!
“President Trump’s decision to freeze these funds is not only illegal but also a direct betrayal of the American people,”
For someone who insisted he knew nothing about #Project2025, #DonaldTrump sure is pushing a lot of executive orders straight from its playbook. Almost like he wasn’t being honest and is just a puppet for #HeritageFoundation and the billionaire oligarchs.
Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
We must never forget the 6 million Jewish people and countless others who were murdered because of their identity or beliefs. Their memory reminds us of the horrors of hate and the importance of standing united against antisemitism and bigotry.
I am disappointed to see the Air Force remove training courses honoring the Tuskegee Airmen and WASPs. These pioneers broke barriers, shaped history, and deserve to be remembered. Erasing their stories dishonors their legacy and undermines the values of inclusion and courage they stood for.
