The US economy added 187,000 jobs in July—for 30 consecutive months of job growth. Since President Biden came into office, the United States has added 13.4 million jobs, with 3.5% unemployment remaining near historic low. Ohio has more jobs filled than at any time in the state’s history.
A legacy of patriotic service was on display at the 180th Fighter Wing's Family Day. Thank you to all the families who support our 180th and their important mission protecting the skies along our northern border.
The US-Japan-South Korea Trilateral Summit at Camp David is historic. The resolve of our three nations will counter Chinese and North Korean aggression in the region and underscores our commitment to peace for freedom loving people around the world.
Thank you for the warm welcome from the Williams County Township Association. Good to be with you this evening to discuss the 2023 Farm Bill, education, and investments in rural broadband infrastructure that will bring modern high-speed internet to communities across NW Ohio.
Brought together State Senator Paula Hicks-Hudson and State Representative Michele Grim at Westbrook Senior Village to discuss issues that impact seniors in our communities. I also highlighted savings seniors can tap into now through the Inflation Reduction Act.
I voted for the Inflation Reduction Act to make the cost-of-living more affordable for families in Northwest Ohio—and I won’t stop fighting to lower costs for hardworking families across our region. I will continue working to bring down health care costs for all people in OH-09.
Parts of Ohio have been left behind for far too long—that’s why I voted to bring modern, high-speed internet infrastructure to communities in NW Ohio. Federal funds can connect thousands of homes to 21st-century technology at low or no cost to you. Visit getinternet.gov.
It was an honor to be able to introduce Ambassador Oksana Markarova to so many from across Northern Ohio who have helped to provide aid to Ukrainians in need this past year. The efforts from our communities have helped so many, and will continue to help refugees and all those in need.
Honored to host Ukrainian Ambassador Oksana Markarova at Ohio’s General Dynamics Joint Systems Manufacturing Center in Lima. The facility’s UAW workforce builds new Abrams tanks, some will aid Ukraine’s counteroffensive efforts.
On this 88th anniversary of #SocialSecurity, I am fighting to ensure these hard earned benefits keep up with rising costs. While some want to privatize, cut, and end Social Security, Democrats introduced SS 2100 to enhance and expand benefits for years to come. #SocSec88
Good to be in Fulton County to join Mayor David Borer, state, and local leaders and community members to celebrate Fayette’s 150th Anniversary. It was great to see such civic pride from the people of Fayette, and to reconnect with so many longtime friends.
My vote to help seniors on Medicare Part D stay up to date on immunization means no out of pocket cost for vaccines listed below. Stay up to date and talk with your doctor about what is right for you.
Focusing on connecting local farmers with more of their neighbors ensures those in need have food on the table while uplifting the growers and producers who feed us all. Thanks to the USDA, ODA, and Ohio Association of Foodbanks for joining me to visit Johnson Produce in Toledo.
One year ago, the PACT Act was signed into law, expanding healthcare and benefits for countless veterans and their families harmed by toxic exposure.
📢The intent to file deadline for backdated benefits to has been extended to Monday, August 14. Find more information below⬇️
Joined the Department of Veterans Affairs to highlight the PACT Act intent to file deadline on August 9th. NW Ohio Veterans affected by burn pits, Agent Orange, and toxic substances can receive the benefits they’re entitled to backdated to 8/10/22. Learn more at VA.gov/PACT.
On hand today as Springfield Schools dedicated the Everett W. Harris Building. Mr. Harris faithfully served his community for over 50 years on the Springfield Township School Board — this dedication pays tribute and honors his many years of service.
When I voted for the Science Act and bipartisan CHIPS Act it was to incentivize investment and production in the USA. Now we are cutting reliance on Chinese suppliers who flood our markets with cheap goods. Imports from China are down 24%. #MakeItInAmerica
Wishing a happy National Lighthouse Day to all of our coastal communities across NW Ohio. Seen here are historic lighthouses from Toledo Harbor, Port Clinton, Marblehead, and Vermilion, but there are many more to see across the coast of Lake Erie.
