We knew Trump’s claim that his his stupid ballroom would be built “taxpayer-free” was bullshit the second he said it.
Now we have the proof.
Turns out, more than half of the $600 million price tag—which is WAY higher than he told us it would cost—will be paid for by the American people.

While this may be a temporary injunction, and the Administration has already signaled they will file an appeal, for now, it's a win worth celebrating.
Trump has tried again and again to whitewash our history, diminish the work of scientists, and use our National Parks and institutions as propaganda vehicles.
We’ll keep fighting this Administration’s attempt to erase history + science—and Trump’s ridiculous vanity projects—every step of the way.
A judge ordered the Admin to restore all National Parks signs it removed—including info at Acadia about indigenous history + climate change.
Visiting these parks isn’t just about the scenery. It’s also about knowing our history, the natural forces that shaped these places + the threats they face.
Republicans refuse to use the power they have as the majority party to stand up to Trump and push back on his destructive, self-serving bullshit.
I’m so tired of their excuses and capitulation.
This is the most feckless majority in history.
Republicans cut health care. Food benefits. Programs to help farmers. Laid off thousands of federal workers. Dismantled entire agencies.
They cut childhood cancer research for God's sake!
But a UFC fight on the White House lawn that requires millions in federal resources and security—no problem!
Trump turned the White House lawn into a taxpayer-funded UFC spectacle, complete with corporate sponsors, exclusive streaming rights, crypto grift, and a platform for vile remarks.
Grotesque. Corrupt. Disrespectful to the office and the American people.
A deal that doesn't include the objectives that were repeatedly used to justify the operation, and will likely be FAR worse than the JCPOA?
A vengeful regime?
An IDF even more emboldened to seize land and terrorize civilians?
What an incredible waste—on so many levels, and in so many ways. (4/4)
The Admin has spent a fortune fighting this war, bombed civilian infrastructure, killed hundreds of innocent people, emboldened the regime, caused huge disruptions to global shipping (and fuel prices to surge), and allowed Israel to commit more atrocities in the West Bank + Lebanon… for what? (3/4)
Will it establish clear and enforceable restrictions on Iran’s nuclear activities?
Does it address Iran’s support for extremist groups?
Are we really planning to set aside hundreds of billions of dollars to help Iran rebuild?
How “open” will the Strait actually be?
The list goes on. (2/4)
🧵
While I’m relieved that we may be nearing an end to Trump's reckless war, we’ve seen this movie far too many times to take anything for granted.
Even if an agreement is signed, it’s hard to believe—based on what we’re seeing—that it'll be the massive “win” the Administration thinks it is. (1/4)
Gardening is good for the soul. So is the occasional rant. 🌱
I am also keeping the Robbins family in my thoughts, as Jim, Alden, and Lily Robbins remain hospitalized in Boston with serious injuries.
This tragedy has touched so many families across Waldo County, and all of Maine is grieving alongside them.
Heartbreaking news.
My thoughts are with Assistant Fire Chief Wayne Woodbury’s family, loved ones, fellow firefighters, and the entire Searsmont community as they mourn this tremendous loss.
His courage and dedication to his community will not be forgotten.

California and other state attorneys general should keep fighting this deal, because the stakes for journalism, competition, workers, and democracy itself could not be higher.
END RANT.
We are watching media power concentrate in the hands of billionaire Trump allies at the same moment Trump is openly threatening journalists, attacking independent newsrooms, + demanding personal loyalty from every institution he touches. That should alarm every American who cares about a free press.
And Larry Ellison reportedly discussed CNN programming changes with White House contacts, including possibly removing anchors Trump dislikes.
Trump's own Defense Secretary went on record to say "the sooner David Ellison takes over that network the better."
Paramount settled Trump's baseless 60 Minutes lawsuit for $16M while its merger with Skydance was awaiting federal approval.
Trump publicly praised David Ellison's takeover of Paramount.
This is chilling.
Donald Trump's Justice Department just greenlit one of the biggest media mergers in modern history, handing CNN, Warner Bros., and HBO Max to a company controlled by one of Trump's closest billionaire allies.
🧵
It’s the end of another terrible week in Washington. Republicans approved billions more for ICE + Trump is continuing his undiplomatic and reckless war with Iran.
And don’t get me started on the president’s birthday party UFC match on the White House lawn this weekend.
Corruption beyond belief.
