🌟NEW YEAR, NEW VICE CHAIR — @RepSalinas 🌟
The Equality Caucus is proud to welcome Congresswoman Andrea Salinas into her new role on our team as a Vice Chair!
Rep. Salinas has been a dedicated advocate & powerful ally for the LGBTQI+ community in Congress. Let us introduce you:
Americans across the country, including some of our neighbors, will pay double or triple their health care costs because Republicans refused to extend cost-saving ACA tax credits.
Republicans have the power to reverse this to save millions of Americans money.

Oregon has made vital progress expanding substance use treatment — but those advancements are now being undermined by the Trump Administration's senseless cuts.
We cannot let their cruelty deny those in need the help they deserve.
Happy Women’s Christmas or Nollaig na mBan, which is a traditional holiday in Ireland where women would take the day off to spend time with their friends after doing the bulk of the work for the holiday season.
Just a reminder that some things are worth celebrating!
❌ Prices are up from the grocery store to health care
❌ Families are struggling to make ends meet
❌ Trump's tariffs are still causing chaos
Affordability was never a priority for President Trump and his Administration. They lied.
Millions of Americans are facing higher health care premiums because Republicans let ACA tax credits expire.
This week, the House can vote to lower costs — or keep letting families pay more.
A sad reality for far too many hardworking families. Republicans have the choice to reverse these harmful, soaring health care costs. The ball is in their court.
“The cost of the premium is almost as much as my mortgage.”
People shouldn’t have to decide between keeping their home or affording health care.
Thanks to Republicans, this is the 2026 reality of health care in America. www.washingtonpost.com/health/2025/...
He was more than my neighbor from the next state, our offices were neighbors down the hall. I would sometimes hear him playing with his dog in between meetings. I’m thinking of his family and his loved ones during this difficult time. (3/3)
I had the opportunity to lead the Subcommittee on Forestry and Horticulture with him. While we didn’t always align politically, we shared the same dedication toward our districts, and he was always incredibly kind. (2/3)
I’m saddened by the news that my friend and colleague, Rep. Doug LaMalfa, has passed away. (1/3)
My statement on the fifth anniversary of the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol
The affordability crisis isn’t new, but President Trump has only poured fuel on the fire — from his disastrous tariff policies to his refusal to protect health care.
He’s focused on distractions while Democrats are focused on solutions.
This week, Congress has a chance to pass a bill that reverses the massive increase in health care costs and restores the ACA’s enhanced premium tax credit.
Republicans have a choice: They can continue to make life unaffordable, or they can join House Democrats to lower health care premiums.
The start of the new year is a great time to check in with yourself about your mental health. Pause, take stock, and plan how you’ll make your wellbeing a priority in 2026.

Without any approval or oversight from Congress, President Trump has overthrown the Venezuelan government. This is an act of war. Every member of Congress should be outraged that Trump is sidestepping our authority and dragging us into another conflict.
Republicans did nothing to lower the cost of health care. House Democrats were ready to vote on a deal that would include extending these vital health care credits.
Instead, Republicans turned their back on you and lied.
Happy New Year! I hope that 2026 treats you and your families well.
I will continue working this year to ensure that our families can lead happy, healthy, and affordable lives.
Happy New Year’s Eve 🎆
Celebrate and have fun — but never drive impaired. A safe and sober ride home tonight means a happy start to the new year!
