Trump and Elon Musk aren’t cutting waste and abuse. They’re cutting cancer research, firing veterans, slashing the Social Security Administration, and threatening to destroy the Department of Education – all to support their billionaire donors. It’s wrong. We're pushing back.
This is blatant racism. I stand with @repespaillat.bsky.social against this disgusting and xenophobic attack. It’s appalling to see Republicans fuel such hate against immigrant communities. The NRCC must be held accountable.
This xenophobic rhetoric from Trump Republicans proves that you can follow the law, get your papers, become a citizen, get elected to Congress -- swear multiple oaths to protect and defend the Constitution -- and all you will ever be to Trump Republicans: an "illegal immigrant."
Generations of Americans marched, fought, and even died for the right to vote. I joined @housedemocrats.bsky.social to introduce the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act today to protect that fundamental right and stop restrictive voting laws from taking effect.
SHAMEFUL. Trump and Elon Musk want to fire 80,000 VA employees and make it harder for our veterans to get the care and benefits they've earned. What a disgraceful way to treat the people who put their lives on the line for our nation.
President Trump’s address tonight was long, rambling, and full of lies. But one thing is crystal clear: under his Administration, billionaires win and families lose. Our country deserves much better.
Dreamers are our neighbors, friends, family, and integral parts of our communities. I’m proud to stand with @sylviagarcia.house.gov in fighting for the American Dream and Promise Act—because their future is our future. #HomeIsHere
I proudly introduced the American Dream and Promise Act today because Dreamers are America. They strengthen our communities, contribute every day, and deserve permanent protections. #HomeIsHere
Removing qualified, dedicated service members from our military solely because they’re trans is wrong. It’s flat out discrimination and it will hurt our military readiness.
Transgender service members will be removed from the military unless they are granted a waiver, according to a memo the Pentagon. The rule goes further than the trans military ban President Trump enacted during his first term.
🚨CA-52: My telephone town hall with special guests Democratic Whip Katherine Clark and Democracy Forward is TONIGHT at 6:00pm. We'll discuss the Trump Admin's harmful actions, the GOP budget, and answer your questions. I hope you can join the conversation! 📞833-998-1747 💻vargas.house.gov/live
Colorado's Rep Brittany Pettersen (D) flew cross-country with her one-month-old to vote against the GOP budget tonight. Dems ended up one vote short. Pettersen was part of an unsuccessful bipartisan push to allow new mothers to vote remotely. #copolitics
After 3 surgeries, a blood clot, infection & being hospitalized for over a week, the moment I was discharged I rushed to the airport so I could get on a plane to DC & vote NO on Republicans’ disastrous budget plan. Rep. Pettersen traveled from Colorado with her newborn son so she could vote NO. 🧵
☎️ TOMORROW: I’m holding a telephone town hall at 6:00pm PT. I’ve heard from so many members of our community who are concerned by the Trump Admin’s actions, Elon Musk, and the GOP budget plan. Join me to discuss what’s happening in Washington and share your thoughts.
House Republicans just voted to advance their plan to gut Medicaid, slash food assistance, and more - all to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. Alongside my @housedemocrats.bsky.social colleagues, I voted NO.
Today, House Republicans are trying to pass a budget plan that would give away trillions in tax cuts for billionaires. Their plan to pay for it? Rip away health care from millions and gut programs families rely on. It's wrong. I am voting NO.
This week, House Republicans are trying to move forward with a budget that slashes Medicaid. Why? To pay for tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations. It’s wrong, and I will keep fighting against it.
Trump has fully endorsed the Republicans’ plan to gut Medicaid. They are trying to take away health care from millions of families to pay for more tax breaks for billionaires. It’s beyond inhumane and we will continue to fight back.
"This means that children are expected to show up in court, as of tomorrow, on their own, with no legal counsel, and try to defend themselves" 26,000 innocent children, some too young to read or talk, are now without legal representation in court. Morally reprehensible.
