My heart is with the families facing disaster from Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica and neighboring island nations in the Caribbean and I’m hoping for the least amount of damage to lives and livelihoods possible.
The US must stand ready to help our neighbors recover from this horrible storm.

More than 32,000 families in my district count on SNAP.
Trump is withholding emergency funds specifically set aside for them, just to make this GOP shutdown more painful. Trump just doesn't care about working families.

We’re now on Day 28 of the Republican shutdown, and yet another week of Speaker Johnson’s taxpayer-funded paid vacation for House Republicans.
@HouseDemocrats.bsky.social are at work, hearing from people directly impacted by Republicans’ cost of living crisis:

Seven years after the Tree of Life synagogue massacre stole 11 lives, my heart is still with the victims’ families, survivors & Pittsburgh's Jewish community impacted by the deadliest antisemitic attack in US history.
We must continue to fight antisemitism & end gun violence.

Don't miss my conversation with @wassermanschultz.house.gov!
We'll be talking about our fight for affordable healthcare and, as fellow survivors, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
RSVP for our conversation this Wednesday at 11:30AMPT/2:30PM ET: forms.office.com/g/fKWmXVxXEN
Wednesday at 11:30AM PT / 2:30PM ET, I'll join fellow breast cancer survivor @Friedman.house.gov for a virtual town hall on the importance of affordable healthcare for cancer patients during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Trump is choosing not to give food aid to 42 million low-income families, despite having funds set aside for it.
If Republicans refuse to reopen the government, Trump must act. There's clear steps they can and must take to ensure families have food on their table next month.
Trump is blowing up boats in the Caribbean to distract you while he lets Maduro cash checks from Big Oil. And the media isn’t telling the whole story.
The White House lifted oil sanctions on Maduro to bribe him for his help deporting LEGAL TPS HOLDERS back to dictatorship.
It's Day 26 of the government shutdown.
Trump left the country, House Republicans are AWOL, and working Americans are getting notices of skyrocketing health insurance costs.
It's less than a week until ACA Open Enrollment. Republicans need to negotiate an end to this crisis.

Trump’s nightmare at sea will not stop drug trafficking.
There’s no fentanyl from Venezuela. There’s no evidence these boats have drugs. There’s no authorization from Congress. And there’s no reason to go after pawns instead of taking aim at the leadership.
Constituents have recently shared healthcare bills with me, and some of their costs would double or triple.
It's unconscionable that Republicans allow this to happen without even sitting down to negotiate a fix to this crisis.
I just met with Latinos in Action alumni, staff, and parents from Broward Schools to discuss the harm that Trump's cancellation of this successful program will have on our community.
Hear what they had to say: www.youtube.com/live/E6McXT1...
Trump's Press Secretary said the White House ballroom is his "main priority" today.
Tomorrow, he's leaving for Asia instead of staying to negotiate a way out of this shutdown and an end to the healthcare crisis.
Why are the American people last in line?
Trump's plan to severely limit eligibility for Social Security Disability benefits will mean 400,00 people are kicked off this vital lifeline.
He's abandoning the most vulnerable among us, all in service to billionaires.

I’m outside our local Social Security Administration field office today to warn Americans about yet another broken promise by President Trump — his assault on Social Security.

When Trump, RFK Jr, DeSantis and Ladapo attack vaccines, they not only revive diseases we beat long ago, they delay cutting edge cancer research.
So proud UF leads on this vital frontier! Lives are on the line. Stop the assaults on mRNA vax research. #GatorNation
The House hasn't been in session in over a month while the Senate votes on the same bill that's failed 11 times already.
Enough nonsense. Republicans need to get to work and negotiate an end to this chaos.
@merkley.senate.gov is holding the Senate floor to shine a white-hot light on what working Americans need.
Meanwhile Trump ruins the White House and shakes down taxpayers to fill his own pockets instead of working to reopen the government.
America faces a rapidly spiraling healthcare crisis – everyday more hardworking people get their premium increases notices. Instead of addressing it, Republicans shut the government down.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
