Offshore wind power offers enormous potential to meet many energy needs, especially in Texas & the Atlantic coast, delivering clean energy with minimal adverse environmental effects. I have personally visited turbine manufacturing and installation.
Perhaps more files are to come while most Americans are focused on the holidays, but Bondi is focused on providing Trump this special gift. What a disservice to the victims who are long overdue justice!
Defying the disclosure law, Pam Bondi’s DOJ is trickling out portions of the Epstein files and preemptively defending Trump by dismissing disturbing evidence as “untrue and sensationalist,” including flight logs of his travels with his friend Epstein and young women, as well as incriminating emails.
Trump’s illegal misuse of the military, using our cities as “training grounds,” is dangerous for individuals and our democracy. This welcome ruling offers important hope from Portland to DC.
SCOTUS may yet offer some restraint on Trump’s insatiable desire for more power. Though 3 Justices are always ready to allow his misconduct, a majority declared in today’s ruling that his regime “failed to identify a source of authority that would allow the military to execute the laws in Illinois.”
In Trump retribution style, RFK Jr. has cut millions in funding to the American Academy of Pediatrics, cancelling programs that save children’s lives, after AAP criticized his unscientific claims. This absurdity is deadly, with infants and children paying the price for RFK's ego and incompetence.
Trump’s limits on federal loan options will worsen a serious nursing workforce shortage and prevent many underpaid and overworked nurses to further their training. Trump continues to weaponize debt and push borrowers towards predatory private loan companies.
ore Trump lies about the boats he’s blasting, at least some of which are apparently neither coming to the U.S. nor transporting fentanyl. His regime has no legal or national security justification for killing noncombatants on the high seas. Just another unjustified war for oil.
I voted against the extreme Republicans' attempt to criminalize gender affirming care for transgender youth. Families & their doctors, not Republican members of Congress, should be able to make their own, private medical decisions.
House Republicans just voted to CRIMINALIZE providing medically-necessary healthcare for young trans people—threatening parents & doctors with a DECADE in prison. We urge our colleagues in the Senate to block this dangerously harmful bill!
“Equality Caucus condemns passage of trans youth healthcare criminalization bill.” IMAGE: U.S. Capitol under a dark, stormy sky, a red caduceus (staff with wings, two snakes) behind prison bars behind the Capitol dome.
“This bill is the most extreme anti-transgender legislation to ever pass through the House of Representatives and a direct attack on the rights of parents to work with their children and their doctors to provide them with the medical care they need. If this bill becomes law, doctors, pharmacists, and—in some circumstances—the parents of young trans people, would face time in prison for choosing to prioritize their child’s health. This bill is beyond cruel, and its passage will forever be a stain on the institution of the United States Congress. At a time where the federal government is already so hostile towards the transgender community, it is imperative that Senate Democrats hold the line to prevent this dangerous bill from reaching President Trump’s desk in order to protect the rights and safety of young trans people and their families." Rep. Mark Takano, Chair of the Congressional Equality Caucus.
Just as Trump‘s appointees gagged Kennedy Center board members, who opposed the outrageous and illegal renaming of this iconic institution for the “great leader,” his regime seeks to gag all who oppose its many other authoritarian actions. Only as more Americans engage can we stop the Trump tyranny.
The White House claims the vote to rename the Kennedy Center was “unanimous.” That is false. I was muted on the call and denied the opportunity to speak or register my opposition. That is not consensus. That is censorship.
Big Surprise—AG Pam Bondi is ignoring the law requiring her to turnover the complete Epstein files today. During the months that Trump and his errand runner, Speaker Johnson, have been making zealous efforts to block public disclosure, Bondi had ample time to prepare these documents for release.
As a Vice Chair of the @EqualityCaucus, I strongly oppose attacks against transgender individuals and will continue working hard to protect our LGBTQIA+ neighbors from these vicious efforts.
At the end of a long series of votes today, I missed the final vote on Crenshaw's misnamed Do No Harm in Medicaid Act, which would prohibit Medicaid from covering gender-affirming care for youth. I would have voted No, as I did when Republicans proposed this outrageous policy earlier in the year.
